I'M HOME!~ Not that I'm very happy about it. I love Kota Kinabalu. Now I've found some place I can retire young. HaHa. Just be laid back and if I get to dive for free, I would love to just bum around and just bring tourists out to dive. The trip was amazing! The underwater world is a whole new experience and I swear it's nothing like above ground. Gosh I wish I could just live there forever. I wouldn't mind at all. =D
DAY ONE:Lesson on the video was boring. I nearly fell asleep. In fact I swear I fell asleep with my eyes open like a fish. lOl. But it did manage to screw in a few knobs into my brains about the basic stuff I should know.
Then we watched movie at the cinema. 8RM per ticket! That's like less than 4SGD! But the movie was scary. Law Abiding Citizen was quite well planned and stuff. So much so that it spooked me a little. All that killing and cold-blood murder was plain disturbing.
DAY TWO:We woke up bright and early! Feeling excited and refreshed. The first dive! Yipee!~ We first saw our Dive Master. This Japanese lady who from afar I thought she was the most cutest and sunshine girl I've ever met. "I am THE DIVE MASTER!" I was like.. Huh? Egoistic sia. But nah. It's just her. Over the last few days I grew rather fond of her. So cartoon. So cute. HaHa. Her every action was something you'll love to capture. Just her smile would brighten up the day.
My dive instructor seemed infatuated with me. lOl. Couldn't keep going on about how attractive I am. I was like... "RIGHT... OK.... THANK YOU..." (laugh). But he's a very playful man. The first dive he really took the nervous and seriousness off me that I realize you can have fun in a dive! We "waltz" and "mambo" in the water, took lotsa pictures with Francis' underwater camera and fed fishes. I was dumbstruck at the school of fish!
So the first experience underwater? It was quite fun. =] They say I'm a natural. lOl. Nick-named Water Baby~ By the 2nd dive I was going deeper than allowed and following this long fish. HaHa. We even dived for 73 minutes! Time underwater moves at least twice the speed faster than on land.
Lunch on the islands were good too. FRENCH TOASTs. Something we at least have like 6 plates to share per day after that. I made them all fall in love with the french toast with honey. lOl. Guess they'll have french toast in future and miss me? lOl.
That night we were suppose to catch Cloudy and The Meat Balls. But we both fell asleep and slept right past the movie timings. So we've got like tickets that weren't torn. lOl.
DAY THREE:We joined a few locals for a dive while we did some more skills. I couldn't dive on the 2nd time after the CESA. Somehow I think there's this fear about my ears when I know how my dad got deaf. But anyway it's also probably because I'm quite tired already after so many dives for the first time.
Then there was also navigation in the water. Frankly, I can barely even navigate my way around HDB flats on land and when I did my exercises back in BMT and SISPEC, I could swore I was a space case. Hence... Yea.. I think I didn't screw up too badly, because I still passed my Open Water Diving Course. HaHa!
DAY FOUR:Today would be our leisure dive! I caught some sun. Had a chat with the Australian couple that were with us on the trip. The girl... Was every bit a queen/diva towards her husband. God I can't stand her sometimes. But I still tried to be nice and all. Although I could tell Francis was losing patience either ways. There was once I spoke to Francis in Mandarin asking how come she's got cuts but her husband's got none when they went on the same snorkeling trip? Then translated it to Malay to the locals. It was hilarious how we spoke bad about them using different language that they couldn't understand. But the only problem was I had to narrate it twice in 2 different languages. HaHa.
The seas were a little choppy. I was amazed and a little freaked out by the numbers of jelly fishes right were we "landed" and while I was "sinking"... I got a little nervous and kindda freaked out. But they didn't sting. In fact they're quite harmless. HaHa. Saw how the fishes were struggling against the waves and how the sea bed was being swirled by the waves. It was a new experience. =D
Before long, the dive ended and we had a few drinks at this beach restaurant. Gosh... I know I'll miss those people. It's almost like back in Club Med. You just didn't feel like going home anymore. =(
DAY FIVE:Home of course. Then I met Marie where we went to watch Michael Jackson's This Is It. I fell asleep. No offence to his fans. I guess the holiday really took my energy down. I had the best time of my life and this holiday would be THE ONE I'll never forget.. =) Hopefully my trips in the future would be every bit like that.
